Why Your Firm Needs a Mobile Website – Right Now

Vuclip, the world's largest independent mobile video and media company, conducted a survey detailing consumer tablet purchase intentions. The survey, which included 20,435 U.S. consumers, showed that 57 percent intended to buy a tablet device before Christmas.

Mobile traffic has grown quickly in the past year and accounts for roughly 9% of website traffic.

9% can't be ignored. Consider that most firms require website compatibility with older web browsers like Internet Explorer version 7, which accounts for only 2.9% of website traffic. If you think compatibility for 2.9% of visitors is important then why ignore compatibility for mobile visitors who account for more than 3 times that amount?

Half of the total U.S. mobile population uses mobile media

The mobile media user population (those who browse the mobile web, access applications, or download content) grew 19 percent in 2011 to more than 116 million people at the end of August. It continues to grow quickly, and annual sales of smartphones are expected to reach 1 billion by 2014.

Law firms have seen mobile website traffic quadruple in 2012

In the past year most of our clients have seen their mobile website traffic quadruple. While early 2011 showed average law firm mobile traffic at around 2%, early 2012 is showing numbers around 8%.

The cost is comparatively low

You have already made a substantial investment in your website. Adding a mobile website into your existing website architecture is relatively simple and typically costs only 10% of a full website development project. It just makes sense.
